On 2nd June 2022, we will celebrate another unique milestone in our history, Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth – her Platinum Jubilee. It is a feat no previous monarch has achieved.
More than 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, and one in each of the capital cities of Commonwealth countries in recognition of The Queen’s long and selfless service.
As The Queen is our Patron, Girlguiding has been asked to take part in the beacon lighting ceremony. At least 70 beacons will be lit by Girlguiding members across the UK and beyond to mark each year. They will be the penultimate beacons before the Queen lights her own one at the palace. Girlguiding Anglia are really proud that we will be lighting one of these official beacons at Hautbois Activity Centre.
Beacon and Firework event at Hautbois Activity Centre

Gates open at 7.30pm.
Beacon will be lit at 9.50pm followed by a firework display.
Entry:
Adults (16+) = £7.50*
Children (5-15 Years) = £5.00*
Girlguiding members in uniform = £5.00*
Under 5’s are free.
BBQ & refreshments will be available to purchase.
*Includes a chance to take a turn on our Climbing Wall and Abseiling Tower. Our Grass Sledges and Jubilee trail will also be available.
Pre-event at Patteson Lodge
Patteson Lodge Estate (across the road from Hautbois) is hosting a free pre-event. Bring your own blanket and picnic from 4.30pm – 8.00pm.
Hot and cold beverages will be available to purchase. Fun family games and activities will be available, including many linked to Princess Elizabeth and her time as a Girl Guide. Why not come and enjoy the fun before going to the main event at Hautbois Activity Centre.
