Hattie's Blog #5 - Boggles, Twiggles and Pond Dipping!

Just a few weeks ago more than 70 Brownies and their Leaders transformed Hautbois into the land of Boggles and Twiggles - characters from the magical children's books written by local author and creator of BeWILDerwood, Tom Blofeld. On Saturday they went to BeWILDerwood and had lots of fun on all the rides and met Mildred the Crocklebog! On Saturday afternoon they came back and had a party in the evening then on the Sunday they took part in lots of activities here at Hautbois like climbing, abseiling and canoeing - they all looked so good in their Twiggle and Boggle outfits and had so much fun! We have had lots of other visitors this month including Flegg High School who took part in some pond dipping as part of our partnership with Natural England and The Country Trust - they caught shrimps, water boatman and a leech (ewwww!), they all thought this was great and they would definitely have a go again.
