Guides – Survival Badge Day

17 Jun 2017 10:00 am to 17 Jun 2017 4:30 pm

An exciting day out for Guides who will be able to earn a badge in a day at Hautbois!

Who is it for?

All Guides are welcome – as individuals or as part of their unit.

How much is it?

£19.75 per Guide.

What does the day entail?

Guide Badge Days at Hautbois Activity Centre are packed full of fun and offer the Guides the chance to earn a badge in a day. The girls will experience adventures and challenges with friends both old and new!

This badge teaches Guides how to be prepared when taking a journey in an unknown area. The day will consist of:

  • lighting fires to enable the girls to cook themselves a two-course meal
  • finding North without the use of a compass
  • building an emergency shelter
  • recognising edible and non-edible plants.

The Guides will take part in archery, shelter building and orienteering as part of the Survival Badge.

The Guide Survival Badge Day begins at 10.00am and will finish at 4.30pm. The Guides will have a chance to re-fuel over a 45 minutes lunch whilst supervised by one of our instructors so no need for mum or dad to hang around. Please be aware that we do not have an on-site cafe so it’s best to bring your packed lunch with you.

Please also remember to wear suitable clothing according to the weather as unfortunately this is the one part of the day we can’t plan for you!
